This Friday sees the introduction of the long-awaited cuts in personal and business tax rates (You can find out more about the new tax rates here) The big question is - what are you going to do with the extra cash each week?
Interesting article via BusinessWeek, explaining that although New Zealanders will hopefully soon see the benefits of changing financial service providers, most of us have until now stuck with the one bank:

Home owners are already auctioning their mortgages on New Zealand’s new home loan auction website fundit.co.nz
The website launched yesterday (27 August ‘07), pitching home loan lenders directly against each other in live web-based auctions to offer the best deals for each home loan.
